Our Story

Siblings Jeremy and Kym Renner founded the RennerVation Foundation with a shared belief that every young person deserves the chance to feel seen, supported and empowered. 

 

Jeremy’s longstanding commitment to uplifting children through philanthropy, combined with Kym’s professional background with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, shaped a vision grounded in both compassion and firsthand knowledge of the foster care system 

 

They created the foundation to serve youth in foster care and underserved youth through meaningful, hands-on programs. What began as a simple idea has grown into a movement focused on building confidence, connection and opportunity for young people in Nevada. 

Our Why

  • 4,000-5,000 children are in foster care in NV each year, with an estimate of only 1,500 licensed foster homes to serve all of them – highlighting a critical shortage for support 

  • 70-80% of entries into care are due to neglect, often tied to substance abuse and unsafe living conditions 

  • Many foster youth have 4+ ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), increasing risks for long-term health and economic challenges 

  • Foster youth are prescribed psychotropic meds 2-3x more often than their peers 

  • 200-300 Nevada youth age out of care annually without permanent family suppoty 

  • 20-30% experience homelessness within the first few years of aging out 

  • Only about 50% have stable employment by age 24, with less than 10% earning a college degree 

  • 1 in 2 find stable housing after exiting the system
